After working for 28 years as an English teacher, for 18 of which I’ve also taught on the PGCE English course at the University of Cambridge, I’m passionate about the ways in which reading and writing can fire the imagination and help us to explore both our own and others’ experiences in profound and often surprising ways. Now, having embarked on my own journey as a poet, I’m enjoying giving space to my own creativity, and seeing how that can help to enhance my skills as a teacher.
